Sanger sequencing, referred to as the chain termination method, is a DNA sequencing method based upon the selective incorporation of chain-terminating dideoxynucleotides (ddNTPs) by DNA polymerase during in vitro DNA replication. Avance Biosystems offers many types of sequencing using the ABI 3730 XL DNA Analyzer platform and BigDye v3.1 chemistry.
Sanger sequencing is a “Gold Standard” platform and is used for sequencing clinical trial samples and for validating assays to be used in pre-clinical and clinical trials and to validate nucleic acid based diagnostic tools/devices for PMA or 510K clearances.
